General Motors Announces New 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition

This all new 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition will be a limited edition super-vette fully loaded and designed to pay tribute to GM's very sucessful Corvette Racing program. It will even sport the familiar yellow and black paint scheme. The Corvette Racing team were frontrunners in this year's American Endurance racing championship. C7 Corvette Z06's are the most track capable Corvette of all time and with this beast boasting 650 horsepower it'll be sure to run on the track with any competition. The C7 Corvette Stingray was the 2014 and 2015 bestselling premium sports car in the US. General Motors knows it's need to keep the Corvette lineup fresh with unique high performance packages. This gorgeous limited edition C7.R draws inspiration from the Corvette Racing program and helps keep GM's Corvette lineup fresh and exciting.

2016 Z06 C7.R Features

The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition starts with a 2016 Corvette Z06 fitted with every single available option. Using the 3LZ timeline from the Z06 and high performance Z07 package. The Z07 pacakage adds Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and the high performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The 650 horsepower LT4 v8 will be backed by the owners choice of a 8-speed automatic or 7-speed manual transmission.

Interior

The inside of the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition's Jet Black leather interior package is complimented with sueded microfiber on the dash and door panels. The compeition sport seats are made with sueded microfiber with some contrasting yellow stiching, Corvette Racing door sill plates, a numbered dash plaue with the build number and a high gloss carbon fiber interior trim package.

 

Exterior

Chevrolet's new Yellow Tintcoat paint choice is used on the 2016 Corvette ZO6 C7.R and is the actual color that the corvette racing team uses. Adding the C7.R Edition graphics package with yellow brake calipers, black wheels with yellow accent strip, corvetter racing center caps, a new hood with a visible carbon fiber section, Spectra Gray Metallic painted body trim and an all new exposed carbon fiber ground effects package. The C7.R edition will also be available with a black exterior paint option. 2016 Z06 C7.R's will be available in coupes and convertibles. Each of the C7.R editions come with a unique infoor car cover with the C7.R graphics.

 

General Motors plans to build 500 C7.R Edition's that will likely start somewhere north of $100k. So it is likely that these will be hard to get and very expensive for those who do get one. There is no question that the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition is one stunning American supercar.
